Friends, I’m hugely excited to take part in this year’s Flash Fiction Festival<\/a><\/strong>, co-sponsored by Hoot Review and A Novel Idea, to be held online Saturday and Sunday, February 27th & 28th! My workshop will run from 10:00 – 11:30 EST on Saturday, thus kicking off the whole weekend of awesome workshops, panels, and readings. I’d love for you to join me! Session Description:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think we can all agree, these certainly are some\u00a0times.\u00a0With all this swirling uncertainty and forced isolation, the world right now feels decidedly “off.”\u00a0<\/em>I propose we lean in to the peculiarity and strangeness and write flash that is surreal, apocalyptic, and uncanny. This session will have us reading and discussing superb examples from published flash, then writing to two prompts aimed at embracing the strange at both the sentence level and the story level. Fun and fast paced! Expect to leave this session with at least one fresh and surprising, delightfully weird new story.<\/em><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
